One of the most respected and talented furniture artists of our day is Jae-Lyo Lee who produces art that happens also to be functional.  He can somehow transform his materials without compromising their nature. 

I discovered this rock installation displayed in my hotel on a recent trip to Korea

Another example of Jae-Lyo's flying rock style.

Jae-Lyo leaves the materials as they are but shapes the space around

The pieces below are actually nails in charred wood.  this was painstakingly done by bending nails  in different dirctions and perfectly aligning them on the surface,so that the overall impression is one of changing depth and movement.

Le Grenier (The Attic) is one of the preeminent dealers in French Industrial objects and they also have a large selection of French country antiques. Their showroom, near Lille France, is huge, which allows them to display entire room designs. 

For those who know and love industrial, the French are considered to have the most distinct style. Names like Strafor, Jielde, Tolix, Multipl, and a host of lesser known manufacturers created objects that were beautiful though made of steel or cast iron and being tough enough for the factory floor.

Le Grenier doesn't stop at finding the objects, they are also well known for restoring them to living room quality while keeping the vintage appeal. You'll also find object repurposed with help from their machine shop, like the dining table below, made from a galvanized riveted water tank.
